Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Back Impallomeni is Professor Emerita for International Law and Organization at the University of Padova (Italy), Lawyer, Lecturer in the ECSL Summer Course on Space Law and Policy and Visiting Professor at several European Universities. She studied Law at the University of Vienna (Austria) and Padua as well as Economics at the University of Manchester (UK). As a Fulbright Grantee she completed post-graduate studies in the United States and was an intern at the Legal Department (Treaty Section) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Later she continued her legal education attending The Hague Academy of International Law and the Faculté de droit, Université Paris I. She also worked as a Research Fellow at the Harvard University Law School. Professor Back Impallomeni is member of the Board of the European Center for Space Law, member of the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Space Law, Judge at the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition, member of the Space Law Committee, International Law Association, Trustee and member of the Program Committee, International Academy of Astronautics. She is author of numerous publications concerning issues of International Law, European Law and Space Law.
